I am a native of Warren NJ and served for 20 years in the Navy as a helicopter pilot.
Professionally, I am a supervisor for a dozen internal business consultants in the U.S. Coast Guard. My colleagues and I work with various Coast Guard units to improve their management practices. I also serve on several not-for-profit boards of directors in various leadership positions. Academically, I hold a Ph.D. in Management (Dec 1998) from Old Dominion University, and I teach management courses at ODU and other institutions. I hold a Masters of Science in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School, a Masters in Urban Studies from ODU, and a B.S. in Political Science from the U. S. Naval Academy. Personally, I am married to Alana Yacus and have two children, a daughter Lara Chapman and a son George Michael Yacus. My hobbies include boating, aviation, motorcycles, and playing in a classic rock band, The Phun Doctors
