The Biofuels Lab operates an Apprenticeship program for engaged motivated High School level students each summer. The program is an introduction to research in the dynamic field of biofuels engineering. Four or five students are selected to participate in one month of hands-on work with graduate and post-graduate researchers. Curriculum includes introduction to fundamental concepts and lab techniques for biofuels research as well as presentations and exploration of the cutting-edge research being conducted by the lab group. Students will work through one longer-term research project over the course of the apprenticeship and present the results of their apprenticeship experience to the lab group in the final week.
