Media Communication and Connections

ODU Libraries will host an interactive media training session (for all-Libraries staff), led in partnership with University Communications. Even if you don’t anticipate speaking with reporters, this session will provide valuable insights into the evolving media landscape and how ODU supports faculty and staff in public-facing roles. This training will help you better understand the role media plays in academia—and how to respond when needed.

This workshop will cover:

• Best practices for engaging with the media
• Strategies for sharing your research and expertise
• FOIA guidelines and university policies
• Interview techniques, with a chance to practice
