In the summer of 2019 I served as an intern at the Virginia Beach Surf and Rescue Museum as an Exhibits and Curatorial Intern. As an intern at the museum, I was responsible for researching information for a new exhibit about the history of the Norwegian Lady Statue in Virginia Beach and the Dictator shipwreck that occurred in Virginia Beach on March 27, 1891. Upon completion of my research, I brainstormed ideas in collaboration with the museum director in helping design the final exhibit. As an intern at the museum, I applied the research skills and strategies I learned from professors in the history classes I took here at Old Dominion. This internship helped me gain valuable experience that will assist me in finding a job in the history field after I graduate.
