Please join the Conversations with the Monarch Community: a Virtual Space for Sharing Perspectives and Resources on February 25 from 10am to 11am as we recognize Black History Month and remember The Norfolk 17!
Currently, ODU Libraries feature physical and digital exhibitions of the brave group of Black students who were the first to integrate Norfolk Public Schools in February of 1959. Conversations with the Monarch Community will share perspectives and resources regarding The Norfolk 17 as we also work together to provide environments of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Featured Speakers Include:
- Dr. Veleka Gatling, Director for Diversity Initiatives and Assistant Professor
- Jessica Ritchie, Head of Special Collections and University Archives at ODU Libraries
