Materials in ODU Digital Commons, our institutional repository, have been downloaded more than 250,000 times by users across the globe. The open access repository, launched three years ago by the University Libraries, now contains over 6,000 papers and other materials written by ODU faculty and students.

In keeping with the University's strategic goal to build its academic and research reputation, the Libraries continue to preserve ODU's scholarly output and make it accessible and search-engine-optimized for online discovery. We identify and collect materials, provide metadata, verify publisher permissions, request acceptable versions, advise on copyright and author rights, and upload materials.

ODU Digital Commons is updated daily with additional materials. We encourage all faculty members to submit their list of publications so we can investigate which publications we can add to increase the visibility and impact of your important research.

ODU Digital Commons is also a publishing platform for peer-reviewed open access journals, open educational resources, conferences, and more. It is a powerful service that is useful to both faculty and students. To learn more, contact Karen Vaughan, (757) 683-4184 or kvaughan@odu.edu.
