In an effort to provide more services during more hours for students and faculty, Perry Library has opened a new help desk that provides all library services in one, convenient location. The new desk provides a one-stop shop for everything from picking up reserve materials and paying fines to checking out technology and asking questions.
The new desk will be located in front of Room 1307, currently the Writing Center. As part of the redesign, the Writing Center is moving to a new location: Room 1208, the former Inter-Library Loan office. While the Writing Center has relocated, the phone number has stayed the same, 757-683-4103. Writing Center hours are posted on the door to Room 1208.
Additionally, the second floor Circulation Desk has closed and all services have been consolidated with the Help Desk in the Learning Commons. In addition to the services already provided in the Learning Commons, the following have been added:
- Checking out, renewing and returning circulating materials
- Obtaining course reserve materials
- Obtaining media materials
- Picking up or returning interlibrary loan materials
- Paying fines/fees
- Resolving library-related holds on student LEO accounts
- Adding to Monarch Plus network printing accounts using cash money
