Founded in 1973 after the simple act of a mother publicly supporting her gay son, PFLAG is the nation's largest family and ally organization. It is the first and largest organization for queer people, their parents and families, and allies. With over 400 chapters and 200,000 members and supporters crossing multiple generations of families in major urban centers, small cities, and rural areas across America, PFLAG is committed to creating a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed. SouthEastern Trans Resource Center
With the mission of providing a comprehensive safe haven for members of the Trans Community, the SouthEastern Trans Resource Center strives to embolden trans leaders, listen to the local transgender community, and make sure that trans people are supporting and getting their needs met. Transgender Assistance Program
The Transgender Assistance Program of Virginia (TAPVA) is a trans-led, non-profit organization created to end homelessness within the transgender community in Virginia. TAPVA provides educational opportunities detailing the intersectionality between homelessness, discrimination, socioeconomic status and racism within the trans community in Virginia. The goal of TAPVA is to offer safe emergency and temporary transitional housing to homeless transgender adults in Virginia, and to help them find the additional resources. Learn More>

Now known simply by its acronym, GLAAD (formerly known as the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) was founded in 1985 in response to the defamatory and stigmatizing media coverage of HIV and AIDS. GLAAD tackles tough issues to shape the narrative and provoke dialogue that leads to cultural change. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is a leading national organization that has advocated for sexual and gender minority individuals here in the US as well as across the globe for over 40 years. Founded in 2003, the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) advocates to change policies and society to increase understanding and acceptance of transgender people. Trans Women of Color Collective
Trans Women of Color Collective (TWOCC) exists to create revolutionary change by uplifting the narratives, leadership, and lived experiences of trans and gender non-conforming people of color.
