DuBois Hired as ODU Vice President for Administration and Finance

Gregory DuBois, the assistant vice president for finance and planning at the University of Florida, has been hired as the new vice president for administration and finance at Old Dominion.

DuBois has spent more than 30 years at the University of Florida in a variety of capacities, including senior associate controller, director of transportation and parking services and internal auditor. He is intimately familiar with a range of areas, including auxiliary services, campus construction, procurement and information technology.

He will start work at the University on July 10.

"Old Dominion will benefit from his deep and broad experience in finance," said President John R. Broderick. "Mr. DuBois impressed us with his commitment to the values of staff development, shared governance, collaboration, community outreach and transparency."

As chief financial officer for the University of Florida, DuBois led that public institution's five-year budget revision review, and managed its $300 million support unit budget proposal and review process.

Throughout his career, DuBois' expertise and skills have been invaluable on university committees and advisory boards; working groups and task forces; and industry association committees. He is also a frequent presenter at regional and national conferences.

DuBois received his bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from the University of Florida and is a licensed CPA in the state of Florida.

The University has restored the position of vice president for administration and finance in response to the upcoming retirement of David F. Harnage as the University's chief operating officer.

President Broderick thanked September Sanderlin, chair of the search committee for the position, as well as committee members Ellen Neufeldt, vice president for student engagement & enrollment services; Austin Agho, provost and vice president for academic affairs; Rusty Waterfield, associate vice president for university services & chief information officer; Deb Swiecinski, associate vice president for financial services; Rhonda Harris, assistant vice president for public safety and chief of police; Dale Feltes, director of design & construction; and Michael Zugelder, professor of finance and representative of the ODU Faculty Senate.
