ODU Exceeds CVC Goal

Old Dominion University has exceeded its $80,000 Combined Virginia Campaign (CVC) goal, according to Assistant Vice President for Community Engagement Karen Meier. The statewide fund drive collects donations for a host of local, regional, national and international nonprofit health and humanitarian organizations, including the United Way of South Hampton Roads.

In all, 361 employees donated more than $80,000 to 67 charities. The annual campaign is led by a team of volunteers.

"Having served as chair for the CVC campaign for over a decade, I continue to be overwhelmed by generosity I see year after year," Meier said. "The level of caring from my colleagues goes far beyond the walls of this University. I know their donations will make a significant impact on those in need."

University President John R. Broderick applauded the efforts of the entire Monarch community for another successful year.

"It is through the successful completion of campaigns like these that ODU maintains its reputation of a community that cares. Not just for each other, but for anyone in need," he said. "I'm thankful for those who helped organize this effort and everyone who supported it."
