July 24, 2019
Old Dominion University's Center for Advising Administration and Academic Partnerships recently earned a certificate of merit from National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), the Global Community for Academic Advising.
The center's advisors will be honored during NACADA's annual conference in October in Louisville, Ky. The award recognizes programs that document innovative and/or exemplary practices resulting in improvement of academic advising services.
Teams housed within the center are: first-year student success, advisor support and completion initiatives, transfer initiatives and the transfer center, and university testing. Each unit works closely with colleagues in the academic colleges, distance learning, Student Engagement and Enrollment Services (SEES), athletics, and the ODU higher education centers.
Carla Harrell, a master lecturer in the Communication and Theatre Arts Department, also won a certificate of merit award in the faculty advisor role.
