Gov. Ralph Northam ordered that the flags of the United States and Virginia are to be flown at half-staff at the state Capitol and throughout commonwealth in observance of Memorial Day.
The flags shall be lowered at sunrise on Monday, May 31, and remain at half-staff until noon on that day.
The governor also ordered that the flag of Virginia is to be flown at half-staff over the state Capitol and all local, state and federal buildings and grounds in respect and memory of the victims of the May 31, 2019, shooting at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center, their families and the entire Virginia Beach community.
The flag shall be lowered at sunrise on Tuesday, June 1, and remain at half-staff until sunset.
