The Panhellenic Council (PHC) at Old Dominion University serves as the governing body for seven National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities on campus. The Panhellenic women work together to unite sororities, focus on common goals, and create a network of support for chapters and members. PHC provides many interactive programs for sorority women as well as for all ODU students.
Panhellenic is the voice of all PHC chapters at Old Dominion University. PHC will be an equal and united body, and serve as both a resource for and a representation of all chapters. Improve unity between all chapters and councils, recruit and reach beyond the Fraternity and Sorority Life community, and serve as a model of the ideal Sorority woman, as outlined by the PHC creed.
In the Fall, PHC will host Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment. Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment is a mutual selection process where the prospective members and the chapters get to know each other and make membership selections. Each day, the chapters will make invitation lists and prospective members will narrow down their selections for the following rounds. In the Spring, some chapters will have informal recruitment where member chapters hold events on their own.
PHC does not have a required grade point average, individual chapters do. Based on chapter requirements interested women must have a 2.5 GPA to receive a bid. However, some chapters require a GPA higher than 2.5.
