Roy E. Colver Jr., who worked in the Facilities Management Department at Old Dominion University for 40 years, died on Jan. 24. He was 64.

His wife of 43 years, Ruth, is employed as a financial services coordinator for the University libraries.

A carpenter by trade, Roy loved working in the carpentry shop at ODU. In his free time, he was a cabinet maker and loved woodworking in general. He also had two black belts in martial arts.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Roy and Doris Colver. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Daniel and Michael Colver; sisters Florence Stockdale and Kathy Smith; brother Richard Colver; and many nieces in nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is assisting the family. Condolences for the family may be offered at www.hollomon-brown.com
