Old Dominion University's Graduate School will host its fourth annual 3-Minute-Thesis (3MT®) competition on Feb. 11 via an online platform.
Students have three minutes to present their scholarship in such a way that a general audience understands and appreciates its importance and achievement.
The competition begins at 6 p.m. Barbara Hamm Lee, owner of Sharing Info, Inc. and host of WHRO's "Another View," is the emcee. She is joined by three VIP judges from the community who bring diverse academic backgrounds and expertise to their evaluations of the students.
Graduate students representing a wide range of advanced degrees (at doctoral and master's levels) are competing for a $1,000 first prize, $750 second prize, and $500 "people's choice" award (chosen by the audience). The first-place winner will represent ODU at a regional competition hosted by the Council of Southern Graduate Schools.
