Purpose: The Intercultural Engagement Assistant student employee will assist the Office of Intercultural Relations (OIR) with its mission of promoting an inclusive campus community. The student employee will provide support to OIR staff in daily operations and program initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist OIR to create a marketing campaign to promote office events on campus and on social media
- Create and display marketing materials on bulletin boards and display cases
- Welcome, engage and interact with individual guests visiting/contacting OIR
- Provide front desk coverage
- Assist with clerical administrative functions
- Provide support with logistical preparation for office activities, functions, and events including set-up, registration, ushering guests, breakdown, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Regular admission to a degree at ODU with good academic standing and must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits hour each semester
- Knowledge of ODU's diverse campus community with a focus on Black student populations.
- Ability and skills to conduct marketing campaigns through social media platforms, and in various locations on campus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Drive
- Excellent interpersonal communication and engagement skills
- Exceptional office etiquette
- Experience with event preparations
