The Bachelor of Arts in Music allows students to specialize in music within a broad liberal arts degree program. Students may select 18 credit hours of upper-level music courses or may choose an emphasis in either music history, music theory or jazz areas. Students planning on graduate study in music theory, history, or jazz should consider this program.

Program Directors
Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in preparation of radio or television station program schedules and programs, such as sports or news.
Music Directors
Direct and conduct instrumental or vocal performances by musical groups, such as orchestras or choirs.
Music Composers and Arrangers
Write and transcribe musical scores.
Producers
Plan and coordinate various aspects of radio, television, stage, or motion picture production, such as selecting script, coordinating writing, directing and editing, and arranging financing.

Foreign Language Requirement
- Proficiency in French or German through the 202 level preferred; proficiency is not met by completion of an associate degree.

Recital Attendance Credit and Ushering Service
- MUSC 311+ Recital Attendance, is required of all music majors and music minors for six (6) semesters of their enrollment as a music major or a music minor. The successful completion of the course requires attendance at a specified number of approved recitals, concerts, and events each semester.
- Also, students must usher for six (6) performances and/or events prior to graduation.
