About this Program

The Music Performance Minor can be paired with practically any major in the university and is designed for students who want to continue to perform throughout their college career. It is highly recommended that students begin the Music Performance Minor in the first semester of their freshman year.

Program Highlights

  • All applied music courses are taught by experienced, professional, performing faculty, 18 full time, 35 adjunct.

  • Recital is not required for composition and performance minors.

  • Performance minor can be earned entirely by taking lessons, performing in ensembles and attending specific music events.

  • Many performance opportunities in a vibrant arts community on and off campus including several competitions.

  • Pairs well with virtually any ODU major.
