To guard ODU faculty and students against the threat of predatory journals, ODU Libraries are now providing access to a new database, Cabell's Journal Blacklist. This database uses more than 60 behavioral indicators (such as integrity, peer review, publication practices, and fees) to keep the academic community aware of, and more protected from, the growing threats of exploitative journal operations.
Please note that Cabell's Journal Blacklist is a product in progress. New predatory journals may pop up every day. It will take Cabell's staff some time to evaluate each new journal before determining whether it should be included in the Blacklist. If you have questions or need help, please review the Libraries' Predatory Journals LibGuide. For further assistance, contact your liaison librarian (find their contact info on the left side of the LibGuide).
