Chloe Smith (pre-MARC Trainee) participated in a Summer Research Experience at University of North Texas Health Science Center, supervised by Prof. Riyaz Basha. She presented her results (as a poster) in the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS), November 13-16, 2019, Anaheim, California. Title: "Evaluating the Anti-Proliferative Effects of Less Toxic Agents against High-Risk Neuroblastoma Cells", Chloe Smith, Yazmin Hernandez, Umesh Sankpal, Alvin A. Holder, W. Paul Bowman, Anish Ray, and Riyaz Basha.

Prizes

Chloe Smith (pre-MARC Trainee) won a Travel Award to attend the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS), November 13-16, 2019, Anaheim, CA, and a poster award therein.

• Ms. Kenacia Goings (Trainee) was chosen for the James P. O'Brien Virginia Academy of Science (VAS) Award. She received it during the VAS Banquet to be held at ODU in May 2019.
