We are very excited to share the rapid growth taking place in our department in enrollments and research. Our Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Computer Science have experienced considerable growth in the last few years. Since its inception, our PhD program has grown significantly to the current 45 enrolled students. Our MS program is also strong with 100 students currently enrolled. We have more than 600 undergraduates majors enrolled in our program.

Our faculty is involved in several areas of research including big data, bioinformatics, high-performance computing, medical image computing, digital libraries and web science, mobile and sensor networks and cybersecurity. This work is supported by external research funding from federal agencies such as NSF, NASA, NEH, NIH, DoD, IIPL, NIA, and others. Our Department ranks in the top 25% in terms of R&D expenditures among Computer Science departments nationally (National Science Foundation rankings based on total Research & Development expenditures).

To address the needs of the growing number of students who wish to learn online, we have developed high quality online BS and MS degree programs in Computer Science, and a successful online Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity.

We welcome you to join our department and benefit from the wide variety of courses offered as well as opportunities to work with our faculty on their research projects.
