Scheduling Classrooms

Room Usage Calendar

The Room Usage Calendar is an online tool that allows instructors to determine whether a room is in use on a particular date and if so, what event is taking place in that room. This tool is searchable by event, location, date, etc. and includes a Help tab.

  • choose a date on the calendar and see events for that day.
  • click on an event and see the details for that event.
  • use the Locations tab and select specific buildings from the Buildings index.
  • use the Views tab to select a group of academic classrooms.

Faculty wishing to request a room change should contact the department chair or departmental staff, who will contact the Academic Scheduling staff to make the changes in Banner.

Technology Classrooms

Orientation training is required for any instructor using a technology classroom. This training is provided by the Center for Learning Technologies and is offered at the beginning of each semester. Keys are not issued until the training has been completed.

After completing the training, faculty assigned to technology classrooms should contact Information Technology Services (ITS), Classroom Central. The Classroom Central staff will provide keys to media cabinets and classroom doors. Note: Some technology classrooms have swipe locks that require the University ID card for entry. Each technology classroom is equipped with a hotline telephone directly to Classroom Central. Technical support is available via the hotline.

All questions related to technology classrooms should be directed to ITS at classroomcentral@odu.edu or call (757) 683-3192.
