Planning
The assessment cycle is a model that can be utilized to develop programing, enhance student learning, foster improvement, and implement changes within your unit. The cycle establishes a framework for feedback, evaluation, and enhancement. For more information on each step, select a portion of the cycle.
Establishing objectives begins with writing clear goals. Once the goals for the unit are in place, objectives provide specific observable and measurable steps to meet the goal.
Mapping the unit's goals and objectives to the institution's goals and objectives ensures alignment as well as organizes the program creation around student learning objectives and the strategic plan.
Selecting and/or designing measures allow us to evaluate student learning. There is a multitude of instruments to choose from depending upon the type of measure and types of items to be evaluated.
