This award honors individuals who have exemplified excellence in research and/or scholarship while undergraduates at Old Dominion University. The University Undergraduate Research Committee will make awards based on the uniqueness of research/scholarship, longevity of experience, contributions to the discipline, and presentations, publications, and/or performances. The award recipients will receive a $500 cash prize. Multiple nominees may be selected.
Details
- Junior or Senior in fall
- Student in Good Academic Standing
- Description of the student’s involvement in undergraduate research projects (preference will be given to students with sustained involvement in undergraduate research).
- Evidence of the quality of the research either through presentation at a professional conference, publication, exhibitions, performance, journal article, contribution to a book, external research/scholarship awards, etc.
- Letter of Support from one or more of the student’s research mentor(s).
- Sample of Student’s Research (e.g., paper, thesis, publication, portfolio). Maximum 30 pages.
Faculty are invited to nominate students for this award. All nominations materials should be collated and e-mailed to Perry Honors College, perryhonorscollege@odu.edu, by February 15. Please place “Award for Undergraduate Researcher” in the subject line of the email.
