Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated each year from September 15th to October 15th , honoring the significant contributions of Hispanic and Latine Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. This year’s theme, “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together”, highlights the trailblazers who have led the way for future generations through their innovation, leadership, and unwavering dedication to progress in various fields, including education, science, business, the arts, and social justice.

Old Dominion University recognizes the rich cultural heritage and enduring impact of Hispanic and Latine communities.  We serve a growing population of Hispanic and Latine students that make up over 9.8% of the student body population according to the ODU Factbook. Also, 4% of our full time faculty are Hispanic and Latine. Their contributions have greatly enriched the diversity and vibrancy of our campus, local community, and nation, and we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates and supports the voices and achievements of Hispanic and Latine students, faculty, staff, and alumni, ensuring that their influence continues to shape the future of our institution.
