Monarch Accelerator Program to Engineering

MAP2E is a free program for new engineering students at Old Dominion University who start in College Algebra (MATH 103M) or Pre-Calculus 1 (MATH 162M). It helps students get ready for the challenging engineering courses by giving them the resources they need to succeed from the start.

Program Benefits

  • Special Support: Includes group and tutoring help, and study spaces.
  • Impact Learning Communities (ILCs): These help students connect with others who have similar interests, making it easier to transition to college. Students will have smaller classes, get to know their teachers better, join fun activities, and get support from a peer mentor. ILCs are for students living on or off campus.
  • Tutoring: Help with difficult subjects like math and chemistry.
  • One-Week Summer Program: Get to know the ODU campus, learn academic skills, build teamwork, and start developing your engineering identity.
  • Scholarships: Available for participants.

Plus...

Participants will have opportunities to participate in Newport News Shipbuilding partner initiatives such as co-op programs, internships, and mentorships.
