As February 2025 Black History Month approaches, the Office of Intercultural Relations invites Black students, faculty, and staff at ODU to participate in a 2025 Black History Month special project. Through this special project, we aim to honor the rich diversity of voices and narratives within the Black community as we celebrate the theme of “Black and Proud: We Are the History."
We encourage submission of a high-quality image of yourself that may be featured during February 2025 Black History Month on the Black History Month Banner, Displays, and more as well as a short reflection on what Black History and Black History Month means to you. While space may be limited, our goal is to incorporate images and reflections throughout February 2025 in order to amplify voices and celebrate the heritage, contributions, and achievements of the Black community. Please send your image and/or reflection to Assistant Director for Black Initiatives Kendall Tate at ketate@odu.edu by December 1.
