The Stroud Center recently published an article about the Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEE) Program, which can be read here.
The story highlights the program done for James Wood High School in Frederick County Public Schools in Winchester, VA. Dr. Kelley Aitken (Science Supervisor) and Dr. Venicia Ferrell (TCEP Research Associate) designed the experience and partnered with the Stroud Water Research Center to increase awareness of meaningful watershed educational experiences (MWEE) and foster the application of Virginia's environmental literacy standards for students through hands-on fieldwork. The program also highlights that future projects to do this type of work is in the plan as well.
