To sell goods at THE Monarch Way, please begin by submitting the online Interest Form. This form tells us about you and your business to get the process started. Please note, our vendors are active participants in the success of THE Monarch Way, and will be required to maintain some working hours at the store.
Students will be directed to also submit a separate application to join the Enactus Entrepreneurs' Initiative. It will detail their responsibilities as an entrepreneurial vendor, such as having a business plan vetted through the Strome Entrepreneurial Center, their required work hours in the store, and so on. The ODU Enactus Chapter advisors will also help with any questions about this.
For Faculty and Staff, there is an opportunity to enter into a commission agreement with ODU Enactus where Enactus members cover the work obligation and receive a percentage of sales for the Enactus team social projects.
ODU Enactus is the University's student chapter of the international organization ENACTUS. The purpose of Enactus is to enable progress through entrepreneurial action. The organization empowers students to undertake entrepreneurial based projects that empower people to transform opportunities into real, sustainable progress for themselves and their communities. The experience not only transforms lives, but it also helps students develop the kind of talent and perspective that are essential to leadership in an increasingly complicated and challenging world.
To become a member of ODU ENACTUS you must be a current ODU student. You may join the ODU ENACTUS Chapter by logging into your MyODU Portal and request membership through Monarch Groups. It is free to join!

The name describes who we are and the entrepreneurial spirit that inspires and supports us. From transforming waste plastic into elegant bags and clothing, to transforming old bicycle chains into high quality fidget spinners, and unwanted collectibles into funds for social projects, ODU entrepreneurs' ideas are changing the world.
When Old Dominion University's former Chief Operating Officer, David Harnage, asked students where they sold their products, the response was unanimous: "online". Harnage voiced his concerns, noting that he was not an avid online shopper. He wanted to provide ODU entrepreneurs with an opportunity to sell their products in a physical brick and mortar location so they could experience that aspect of running a business. What was once an idea, became a reality with THE Monarch Way.
The idea is an extension of the entrepreneurial culture at ODU. It allows students, alumni and faculty/staff entrepreneurs the opportunity to experience selling in a retail environment without undertaking a huge amount of risk. The store is viewed as a "learning lab" for the young entrepreneurs to learn first-hand about pricing, merchandising, scheduling and more.
