Esteemed Delegates and valued guests,

On behalf of the Secretariat, it is with great honor to welcome you all to our 3rd Old Dominion University's MonarchMUN Conference. It will be hosted by students of Old Dominion University on November 5-7 over Zoom.

The ODU Model United Nations Society has been running our High School conference for 45 years, and with that history lies a commitment to realism, professionalism, and most importantly, the development of young leaders. We are honored to have been able to bring that same commitment to the College Conference Circuit these past two years. With each passing year, the Secretariat strives to make the conference better than before with interesting topics and bodies that will expand the delegates' knowledge and understanding of the global community.

Even over Zoom, MUN is a way for students to become passionate about the trials and tribulations of others and therefore gain sympathy and awareness of the world around them. MonarchMUN teaches all of us that no issues is black-and-white, and no solution is easy. But with leadership, kindness and sheer grit; we can make real change. The ODUMUN Society hopes that with every MonarchMUN, delegates take home a piece of the topics that were discussed and strive to make the world around them a better place for all.

Our Secretariat has worked tirelessly to develop the best bodies and topics for you all to research, debate, and work towards a solution for the issue at hand. Even over Zoom at this MonarchMUN, don't be surprised when you find yourself addressing conflicts overseas, running your own mafia in 1920's Chicago or debating about nuclear weaponry in DISEC. No matter your country's position or crisis character, we hope you thoroughly enjoy MonarchMUN, back again for 2021!
