Comprehensive Falls Risk Assessments
Monarch Balance for Life offers a comprehensive fall risk assessment at their state-of-the-art laboratory space on the campus of Old Dominion University. The techniques used are cutting-edge, have been validated by decades of research, and are not offered in clinical settings due to the constraints of time and insurance.
Our Assessment Includes:
- 15 physiological tests which include strength, balance, vision, sensation, and reactions
- In-depth analysis of a person's walking ability
- Evaluation of balance confidence and fear of falling
- Cognitive tests
The comprehensive assessment predicts the likelihood you will fall in the next 6 months, as well as specific guidance on addressing your unique risk factors. The assessments allow us to prospectively identify those persons at risk of falling and gain a clearer understanding of the specific risk factors that may predispose them to falling.
Each Assessment Requires Two 1-hour Lab Visits and Includes:
- A 1-hour comprehensive testing session with a movement expert
- A written report outlining the findings of your assessment
- Up to 1-hour debriefing of the results with the opportunity to ask questions and discuss next steps
- Unlimited phone or email consultations with providers or family members to answer questions about your results and how to use them to develop your fall management plan
Each client is given a written report and chooses with whom to share the information. We can provide extra copies to share with your healthcare team to develop your fall management plan and get everyone on the same page.
