Ed Neukrug, chair of the Department of Counseling and Human Services Old Dominion University's College of Education and Professional Studies, has won the American Counseling Association's (ACA) Thomas Hohenshil National Publications Award.
This honor recognizes an ACA member who has made outstanding contributions to the publication of counseling-related literature. He is just the fifth person to receive this award.
Earlier this year, Neukrug was named the Batten Endowed Chair for counseling. Neukrug has written a dozen books, including a two-volume encyclopedia on counseling theory, and developed an interactive and animated website on "Great Therapists of the Twentieth Century" as well as other open-access materials for laypersons and professionals.
Neukrug has held a variety of positions in local, regional and national professional associations in counseling and human services. In addition, he has published numerous articles and has received a number of grants and contracts with school systems and professional associations. He has been named a Fellow by the ACA and twice received the President's Award from the National Organization of Human Services.
