A sedentary lifestyle can lead to the development of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Exercise has been shown to lower the risk of developing these diseases and overall improve quality of life. The Employee Wellness Program is a free program that allows employees to either exercise at their own pace or to participate in group exercise classes lead by a graduate student in the Human Movement Sciences Department. Group exercises include fast-paced circuits that target all major muscle groups. Any employee who wishes to exercise on their own can choose from a variety of exercise machines located in the WIRC and exercise at their own pace.
