The Master of Science in Exercise Science is designed to prepare students for advanced roles in careers that utilize exercise to improve the fitness and health among a wide variety of populations: individuals with chronic disease, healthy adults, fitness enthusiasts, and athletes. Our students receive vibrant, face-to-face learning with experts in exercise physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, and exercise testing and prescription.
Doctoral Programs
The mission of the Ph.D. in health services research is to develop leaders and problem solvers whose professional services will improve the health of the population far beyond Eastern Virginia. Health services researchers examine health care quality and effectiveness, primary and managed care, new technologies, and other critical health services and related public health research practice topics.
Designed for kinesiologists and rehabilitation professionals who have already completed a master's degree or entry-level clinical doctorate and are interested in becoming leaders, teachers, and scholars in their respective fields.
A full-time three-year curriculum that includes classroom instruction, laboratory instruction and practice, online interactions, readings and homework assignments, discussions, peer-teaching, seminars and clinical experiences.
