Dates and times listed below are available for degree recital performances this semester.
Recital Approval Hearing dates
* All events below will take place in Wilson G. Chandler Recital Hall unless otherwise specified
15 minutes each | Scheduled between 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Fall 2025
- Oct 17: Vocal only
- Oct 20 : Instrumental only
- Oct 24: back up (only for those who cannot perform on the previous two days)
Spring 2026
- January 8: Instrumental and Vocal
- March 6: Vocal only
- March 9: Instrumental only
- March 13: back up (only for those who cannot perform on the previous two days)
Download the Recital Approval Form. The Recital Approval Form is due 14 days prior to the recital approval date. Submit your completed Recital Approval Form with a $200 check payable to Old Dominion University to the F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music Office Manager in Diehn Center for the Performing Arts room 2123. Missing this deadline will incur an additional $25 late fee. The form and fee are required before approval hearing and recital will be scheduled.
Secure a recital date BEFORE playing your recital approval hearing.
Choose a date that corresponds to the degree you are pursuing; half hour recitals cannot be scheduled in the evening.
Schedule your recital date via email with the Music Office Manager. The Recital Approval Form and fee are required before approval hearing and recital will be scheduled.
All degree recitals must be performed on or before the last day of classes each semester, with the exception of hour long recitals, which can be performed during final exam week.
Schedule your recital as follows:
Half Hour Recitals:
BM Barrier & BME Senior Recitals:
Monday & Friday 4:00-4:30pm or 4:45-5:15pm
Full Hour Recitals:
BM & Graduate Recitals:
Monday-Thursday 7:30pm or Sunday 3:00pm
