ODU Mobile ID is your University ID accessible from your mobile wallet. By downloading the Get App and adding your ID to your mobile wallet, you can use your phone to access buildings and non-residential spaces that you access with your physical ID, as well as pay for various services across campus.

Monarch Card & Business Services manages identification card production, security, and card technology for all students, faculty, and staff throughout the Old Dominion University campus community.
Virginia Health Sciences (VHS) Badge & Building Access
For ODU Campus Faculty or Staff Member Who Frequently Visit Both Campuses
To get an EVMS badge or obtain building access:
- Fill out the VHS Badge & Electronic Access Form, including headshot photos for first-time badge recipients, and send it to EVMSHR@evms.edu.
- Once the badge is ready, EVMS HR will email the contact person to confirm the location (EVMS HR or Monarch Card & Business Service) and time for pickup.
Once building access is granted, an EVMS Police & Public Safety Physical Security Specialist will email the contact person within three business days to confirm access.

ODU & EVMS ID Cards/Badges – FAQ
Yes. Faculty, Staff and Students whose primary campus is EVMS are still required to have an EVMS (Virginia Health Sciences) ID card. If you have an existing EVMS badge it is still valid, you do not need to get a new card. ID badges created after June 26, 2024, will have the new Virginia Health Sciences logo.
Faculty, Staff and Students whose primary campus is EVMS will continue to use the same process as before the merger.
Faculty and Staff whose primary campus is ODU are eligible for an EVMS ID badge for frequent visits to the EVMS campus. The EVMS Badge and Electronic Access Request form can be found here.
Faculty, Staff, and Students whose primary campus is EVMS are encouraged to get an ODU Mobile ID. Your EVMS/VHS ID badge is an official ODU identification card; however, it will not enable access to services on the ODU campus. If you would prefer a physical ODU ID, one can be requested. Please be aware that only one ODU ID can be active.
Faculty, Staff and Students whose primary campus is ODU will continue to follow the same process.

Steps to Obtain an ODU ID
To obtain an ODU ID, send an email to cardcenter@odu.edu that includes:
- First & Last Name
- University Identification Number (UIN)
- Photo as a JPEG attachment
- The following photo criteria must be met for acceptance:
- Headshot
- Solid-colored background
- Forward facing
- No one else in the picture
- The following photo criteria must be met for acceptance:
- Pick up location (EVMS HR or Monarch Card & Business Service)
Once the ID has been printed, Monarch Card & Business Services will email the requester to confirm the pickup location and time, or confirm that the ID will be sent to EVMS via interoffice mail.
Your ID card is your official University identification card and access credentials for the campus. Please do not put holes in your ID card because the holes will make the card inoperable. There is a $15 charge for a replacement.
What does the $4 fee cover?
The fee covers new Smart Card Technology that increases card security and campus safety.
Where can I use it?
Your new ID card is a multi-functioning campus ID. It allows for access and services throughout the campus and should be carried on you at all times.

- Student Recreation Center and ODU Fitness Center
- Admittance to events on campus including select home athletic events
- Classroom swipes for select classes requiring a swipe for attendance
- Campus libraries and Testing Centers

PNC is making it easier for you to keep track of your money at Old Dominion University. You'll find a PNC branch in the North Mall of the Webb Center and seven PNC ATMs on campus. And with PNC Virtual Wallet Student®, managing your money is easier too.
As an ODU University student and PNC customer, you can link your bank account to your Monarch ID Card and use it at PNC ATMs and other merchants. You can even request a PNC Bank Visa ® debit card designed just for Old Dominion University. For more information, click here.
Select business and local events may offer ODU student discounts.
- This account serves as a University prepaid debit account that serves to make purchases at many on-campus locations, including all dining locations, select vending machines, select printers, the University Bookstore, Monarch Techstore, the Health Center, and more.
- Monarch Plus purchases can be made at select off-campus locations.
- Meal Plans are ODU's way for students to purchase food on campus, per semester.
- Flex Points are tax-free points to be used at select Monarch Dining locations.
