Taskina Akhter
Taskina Akhter completed her M.B.B.S in 2016 from Sher-E-Bangla Medical College under the Medicine Faculty of the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She worked as a lecturer for about 2.5 years at Ad-din Women’s Medical College. Before joining Old Dominion University for her M.Sc in Exercise Science, she was working as a government physician serving the people of her home country during the crisis period of COVID-19. Her research interest in cardiometabolic heath encouraged her to work under the supervision of Dr. Reynolds. She will graduate with her Master’s Degree in Exercise Science in December 2023, and will begin her Ph.D. in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences in January 2024.
Joel Harden
Joel Harden is a second-year doctoral student working under Dr. Reynolds in the Cardiometabolic Laboratory. He received his bachelor's degree from Jacksonville University in Kinesiology in 2020, and has been at ODU since, receiving his master's degree in Exercise Science in 2021. Harden is currently a research assistant in the Cardiometabolic Laboratory, working to support ongoing research funded through the American Heart Association examining the impact of removal of exercise and intensity of exercise on vascular health and glycemic control. His research interests lie in cardiovascular and metabolic disease management and prevention through differing intensities of physical activity.
