Inclusive Variety

Certified instructors provide a variety of group exercise classes for all fitness levels! People of all backgrounds and fitness levels make up our group exercise community. Each class and instructor value inclusion to help motivate you to reach your personal goals.

Class Cost

Classes are FREE for all Recreation & Wellness members! See the membership page for more information on starting a membership if you are not currently a member.


Location

We are offering in-person classes at the ODU Student Recreation Center. Virtual classes are available on our Youtube channel.

Registration

Register through the ODU Rec Well app or online via the Rec Well Portal. Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the start of the class. You can also cancel your registration on the Rec Well Portal.

Class Descriptions

 AbSolute Glute

Strength & Conditioning

This 45-minute workout will torch your core and glutes! Instructors will guide you through a strength and conditioning class using a variety of methods and tools to challenge all fitness levels.

 Barre

Strength & Conditioning

Utilizing your body weight, hand weights, bands, mats and other equipment, instructors will incorporate techniques from Yoga, Pilates, and traditional ballet to provide you with a fun and challenging workout.

 Bootcamp

Strength & Conditioning

During this 60-minute workout, you will experience short burst of high-intensity, interval-training that target the major muscles groups of the upper and lower body, as well as the core. From circuit-style routines that jump-start cardio fitness, to creative muscle-toning exercises, each class brings its own unique workout!

 Cardio Dance Party

Cardio & Dance

A fun, high energy cardio workout! The instructor motivates you to bike at various resistances and through different courses of hills and sprints. Open to all fitness levels.

 Cycle Circuit

Cardio & Dance

Cycle Circuit uses high intensity intervals of work to help you get the most out of your workout! Short intervals working at your maximum effort make this workout great for strengthening muscles and improving cardiovascular health. If you're ready to challenge yourself, this is the class for you!

 Dance Fitness

Cardio & Dance

Dance Fitness will encourage you to move, break a sweat, and learn about a variety of dance styles! This choreography-based class is packed with fun and will have beginners feeling like professionals in no time! Each month will feature a different theme and all experience levels are welcome.

 HIIT 30

Cardio & Dance

Get ready intense bursts of cardio and strength training with short, active recovery periods in this High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class! All fitness levels are welcome.

MixxedFit© is a people-inspired dance fitness program that is a mix of explosive dancing and bootcamp toning. Everything about our dance fitness program can be described as explosive- all of our movements are always big, exaggerated, full-out, and our very best.

 Power Hour

Strength & Conditioning

Blast all your muscles with this high-rep weight training workout for all fitness levels. Using an adjustable barbell, weight plates, and body weight, you will increase your overall strength and endurance!

 Ride N Rave

Cardio & Dance

This 60-minute cycle set to Electronic Dance Music (EDM) will get your heart pounding! Exciting beats and bass drops help you power through climbing and sprinting intervals. Ride and Rave has something for everyone with the newest from the EDM world as well as remixes of your favorite classics!

 Slow & Steady Yoga

Mind & Body

Slow and steady yoga is perfect for those interested in establishing perfect balance between strength and flexibility. You will use your breath and awareness to create harmony in your body and tap into your true potential of what you are capable of.

 Small Group Training

Strength & Conditioning

This small group training session will focus on functional movement patterns designed to increase muscular strength and endurance for daily life activities. This class will improve on one's mobility, increase neural control, and improve posture. If you are looking to become stronger at completing daily life activities, exercise efficiently and have a fun time doing it, this is the group for you.


 Total Body Stretch

Mind & Body

Join us for an hour of stretch and relaxation. After an hour of stretching and relaxation techniques you will leave this class rejuvenated!

 Total Body Tone

Strength & Conditioning

Total Body Tone will help you to get sweaty and shredded with a well-rounded workout. From circuit-style routines that jump-start cardio fitness, to creative muscle-toning exercises, each class will provide a unique workout that targets the entire body.

 TRX Bootcamp

Strength & Conditioning


Work up a sweat in this 45- minute class that uses the TRX suspension bands and your own body weight to build muscular strength and cardio fitness!

 Xtreme Hip Hop

Mind & Body

You will use your breath and awareness to create harmony in your body and tap into your true potential of what you are capable of.

 Zumba

Cardio & Dance

This is a 60 minute class of Latin-inspired red-hot music and dance that will get the party started.





CANCEL REGISTRATION

Can't make a class you registered for? Open your spot for someone else by canceling your registration! It's easy to do:

  • Visit the Rec Well Portal & sign into your account
  • Click on your user icon in the top right
  • Click "Profile"
  • Click "Programs" in the left menu
  • Under registrations, find the class you wish to cancel and click the three dots on the right
  • Click "Cancel Registration"
