J.C. Scrap Chandler Pool
Dive into the right aquatic program for you!
The J.C. Scrap Chandler Pool, located inside the ODU Student Recreation Center, is an 8 lane, 25 yard indoor pool with depths between 4 and 15 feet. The temperature is set between 78-80 degrees because it is a competition pool. Locker and shower facilities are available.
Members can participate in a variety of programs including:
- Lap swimming
- American Red Cross safety courses
- Swimming lessons

Want to become a Lifeguard or Swim Instructor?
Apply online! Eligible applicants:
- must be 16 years of age or older
- must pass the complimentary American Red Cross Certification Course (provided)
- do not have to be current ODU students
Lap Swimming
Lap swimming is a great low-impact cardio exercise, and is available to SRC members during specific hours each week. See pool calendar below for hours.
