Testing Services

• Students enrolled in courses at ODU Virginia Beach can expect exam support during regularly scheduled class time. It is the student's responsibility to be aware of changes made by the professor.

• Reservations are required and must be made 3 business days in advance by all ODUGlobal students and students registered at main campus or other Regional Higher Education Centers.

• Students enrolled at ODU Virginia Beach, but taking an exam outside the scheduled class time must also reserve a space 3 business days in advance.

• Appropriate official photo ID required (ODU student ID, state-issued, military or passport).

• Limited spaces are available. All students must utilize our online system to make an appointment. Telephone appointments are not accepted.

• Test begins no later than the scheduled time (no late admission).

• Please arrive 10-15 minutes before start time.

• No eating or drinking is allowed in the testing room.

• All electronic devices (phone, laptop, tablet, smartwatch, smart device, etc.) are strictly prohibited.

• Testing ends promptly at 4:30 PM. Please be sure to make your appointment so you have enough time to finish your exam. If you're unsure of your exam length, we recommend making a morning appointment.

• No-show appointments are subject to loss of future testing privileges. If you cannot make your appointment, please cancel using the online system. If you have trouble please contact our office by phone, 757-368-4100, or e-mail, vbhec-admin@odu.edu. Testing Center seats are at a premium, and no-shows impact other students. We appreciate your consideration for your fellow student.

• If you did not receive a confirmation e-mail stating you have an appointment, that means you are not registered. Be sure to click all the way through to complete your appointment registration. All confirmed appointments are automatically sent a confirmation e-mail immediately following your registration. If needed, don't hesitate to contact our office confirming your appointment.

• The University Honor Code is always in effect.

• Please also familiarize yourself with the Code of Student Conduct.

The Virginia Beach Center has limited spaces available that meet the unique privacy requirements of ProctorU exams.

When you reserve a space at the Virginia Beach Center using the online system, you are reserving a quiet space to take the exam. ODU personnel DO NOT proctor the exam. You are not guaranteed a computer. Two ODU laptop PCs, and two sets of headphones can be checked out (subject to availability). These laptops cannot be taken outside of the Virginia Beach Center. We strongly encourage you to bring your laptop as an option.

Please remember that you must make two reservations: one with ProctorU and one with ODU Virginia Beach reservations.

A USB webcam and a headset are available for checkout at the Reception Desk.

Where do I park?

A valid ODU parking permit or hourly parking payment via MobilePay is required to park at the VBHEC from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday.

What are the hours?

Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. to Noon & 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Friday: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
