Dean’s Faculty Awards

The Dean’s Faculty Awards honor outstanding performance by faculty within Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences Eastern Virginia Medical School and EVMS School of Health Professions at Old Dominion University. Award recipients will be honored at the Faculty Appreciation & Recognition Event on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Procedure

Awards are presented in three categories, detailed below.

When you are ready to nominate, please complete the Faculty and Educational Excellence Award Nomination Form.

Ensure all required documentation is available before beginning the process. A confirmation email will be sent once your nomination has been successfully submitted.
 

Deadline

The nomination period for the 2026 cycle is now closed. 

Late submissions are not accepted.

Award Selection Committee

The Faculty Achievement Awards Committee, comprised of previous award recipients and faculty from Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences Eastern Virginia Medical School and EVMS School of Health Professions at Old Dominion University, will review all eligible nominations and select award recipients.

The committee, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to determine that an award not be presented in a given year. This may occur if:

  • No nominations are received in a particular category, or
  • Submitted nominations do not meet the established award criteria or eligibility requirements.
