Public health professionals "protect individuals, families and communities from serious health threats" and strive to improve society's quality of life. Graduates of the Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences with a major in Public Health will possess knowledge and skills necessary to preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health through the organized efforts of society.
Process to Declare this Major
Students must meet specific prerequisite requirements before they are eligible to officially declare the major. Students are Intended Majors until they meet program prerequisite requirements. Students who have met the requirements to declare a major will be referred to the program by their assigned academic advisor.
Public Health Student Association
The Public Health Student Association (PHSA) enables students to discuss health issues with faculty, peers, community leaders and public health professionals.
