Two informative articles based on 2013 salaries and employment and on the growth of chemistry jobs in 2014 can both be found in Chemical and Engineering News. The aforementioned articles are from a weekly news source of our professional organization The American Chemical Society. You will find jobs listed in both places as well as a variety of information on chemistry applications and recent developments in chemical research.
Successful job searching requires the attainment of skills that extend those that you acquire in formal coursework. Students are strongly encouraged to pursue research opportunities/internships with the faculty in our Department. The Career Management Center also offers training in a variety of job-seeking skills which will help the interested student in obtaining that first job.

Student Organizations
The American Chemical Society is a student organization interested in "improving people's lives through transforming the power of chemistry." This year we are planning multiple events such as Mole day, pie a professor day, and the magic show. We encourage each of you to attend our events which are free, along with joining us for our general meetings that are held every other Thursday in the Alfriend Chemistry Building, room 404, during student activity hour.
