Scholarship Opportunities
Criteria:
- Full time graduate student enrolled in Old Dominion University Ellmer School of Nursing Program
- Minimum of 1 award per year
- Demonstrates financial need (as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid)
- Students are encouraged to participate in a clinical experience with a minimum of 120- 250 clinical hours depending of program of study at a Bon Secours Hampton Roads Health System facility, or its successor (Old Dominion University Ellmer School of Nursing will supervise). The student will agree to placement in an ambulatory, acute, or long-term care depending on applicability to course of study.

- Must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student
- Undergraduate student must be a sophomore, junior or senior.
- Must be a Pre-Med or Nursing Student
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Preference given to student pursing medical research
- Scholarship shall be renewable.

- Must agree to accept 120 clinical hours (140 for honors students) at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, or its successor (School of Nursing will supervise)
Traineeship Funding
Each year the Nurse Anesthesia and the Nurse Practitioner programs compete for a nurse traineeship grant awards from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary Federal agency for improving health care to people who are geographically isolated, economically or medically vulnerable.
Once admitted to the program, students should discuss traineeship funding with their program director.
