SSCLMO Advisory Council

The Advisory Council of the School of Supply Chain, Logistics, and Maritime Operations at Old Dominion University (ODU) plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our supply chain and logistics programs and ensuring that we are responsive to the needs of the supply chain, logistics, and maritime industry – regionally, nationally, and globally. With a focus on innovation, collaboration, and education, the council consists of a distinguished group of leaders from the fields of supply chain management, logistics, transportation, and maritime operations. The council also has assigned sub-committees dedicated to industry engagement, planning & procedures, program review, resources, and membership.

Mission

The Advisory Council's mission is to provide expert guidance and insights that align the school’s academic and research programs with industry trends and demands. We work together to ensure our students gain the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to excel as leaders and innovators in the global supply chain, logistics, and maritime sectors.

 

Role

The Advisory Council serves as a bridge between academia and industry. Council members contribute to:

  • Curriculum Development: Advising on curriculum updates to reflect current trends and emerging technologies.
  • Industry Partnerships: Fostering connections between the school and industry partners for internships, research projects, and job placements.
  • Student Success: Supporting students through mentorship, guest lectures, and networking opportunities.
  • Research and Innovation: Guiding the school’s research agenda to address real-world challenges in the supply chain and maritime industries.
