Bike Registration

Love your bike? Keep it safe.

Local law enforcement agencies recover hundreds of bikes a year, but have very little information to discover who they belong to. By registering your bike, you'll help regional law enforcement know it's your bike if it's ever found.

Register your bike for FREE at Project529.com/ODU or by downloading the app. Shield decals are available for pickup at the Transportation & Parking Services Office with proof of registration.

TPS is giving away a FREE Shield (sticker) and a FREE U-Lock (while supplies last) when you show proof of registration! Email either parking at parking@odu.edu or Mike Willett at mwillett@odu.edu to schedule a time to pick up your free shield and u-lock! Help ODU break the chain on bike theft and register your bike with Project 529 today!

How It Works

Register your Bike

Quickly capture all the important information about your bike from your computer or your smartphone, so you have it if you need it.

Shield your Bike

Tamper-resistant Shield decal acts as a deterrent, warning thieves to keep their paws off your bike, and makes it easier to contact you if your bike is found.

Enlist the Community

If your bike is stolen, set an alert to let the security team and other bike owners at Old Dominion University know.

Reporting a Bike Theft

You can use app if your bike is stolen to report it stolen to community (crowd source find), to provide to law enforcement for theft report, and to provide proof of ownership if it is ever tagged as abandoned by TPS.

Step 1
  • Start an alert on your bike on the 529 Garage website or app.
  • If your bike isn't registered, register it first with all the information that you have about your bike, and then start the alert.
