Biomaterials, Biosensors & Bioelectronics

The Center for Bioelectronics develops benign or bioactive biomaterials such as allografts and scaffolds for cell, drug and controlled biotherapeutics delivery. We are developing innovative biomaterials, biosensor and bioelectronic devices that interact with biological systems to elicit the prescribed responses and biological integration as well as to serve as test beds to translate these technologies into clinical applications.

Neuroscience

The research conducted in the field of neuroscience at the Center focuses on the functioning of neural cells and systems and relationship between neural activity and behavior and cognitive processing. We develop various technology to study and interact with neural systems including biomaterials, electrophysiology, neural interfacing electronics, computational modeling and multi-dimensional data analysis.

Drug Development & Delivery

Pharmaceuticals save lives as well as alleviate pain. CBE works to improve pharmaceuticals through research on drug design and development and drug delivery. Our research has the potential to impact healthcare by making pharmaceuticals more effective, cost effective and convenient for patients. Our research emphasizes novel drugs to treat treatments of cancer, diabetes, infectious disease and other diseases.

Regenerative Medicine & Wound Healing

The fields of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering are truly remarkable because they have yielded a more intimate understanding of the functioning of human tissue and organ, where our research goes beyond tissue engineering to include repair and regeneration.

Core Facilities

The University state-of-the-art core facilities serve as a shared resource for the biomedical, bioscience and engineering community. We provide consultation, training and support for a variety of research projects up to Biosafety Level II (BSL2).

In order to reserve core facilities equipment you must register to use the system. Once you are registered, the system will enable you to place service request, provide required approvals, monitor progress and view equipment availability. These resources are available to affiliated labs at a subsidized rate. If you experience difficulties, please contact us.
