The Darden College of Education & Professional Studies is nationally recognized for preparing students to be education, industry and clinical/service professionals.

Our 11 bachelor's degree programs with 10 available concentrations are rigorous and innovative and will prepare you to succeed anywhere. An institutional leader in advanced studies, you'll find more than 60 graduate programs and certificates on-campus and online that are designed to meet your needs.

With five floors and 120,000 square feet, our new education building opened for classes in January 2017. The building provides high-tech amenities, collaborative space, a two-story-high multipurpose auditorium, nine laboratories for use within STEM and industrial technology programs and a resource dedicated to student advising.

The Darden College of Education & Professional Studies is accredited by numerous specialized and professional accrediting agencies and is a leader in institutional advanced studies.

More than 41,000 alumni have advanced to challenging and rewarding positions around the world. More than 1,000 degrees have been conferred by our College each year since 1998.

The College fulfills its mission through its undergraduate and graduate programs in the fields of education, counseling and human services, exercise science, sports management, recreation, training, fashion, speech-language disorders, instructional and occupational technology, as well as through its many continuing education activities.

Old Dominion University's major purpose in its teacher education programs is to prepare teachers and educational leaders who have adequate knowledge of their teaching disciplines, ability to practice state-of-the-art instruction to students of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and attitudes which promote commitment to teaching and learning as well as lifelong professional growth and development.
