Love your bike? Keep it safe. Local law enforcement agencies recover hundreds of bikes a year, but have very little information to discover who they belong to. By registering your bike, you'll help us know it's your bike if it's ever found.
Register your bike for FREE at Project529.com/ODU or by downloading the app. Shield decals are available for pickup at the Transportation & Parking Services office with proof of registration.
The ODU Police Department offers free child safety seat inspections to the University and community at-large. As Norfolk's only Safety Seat Check Station recognized by the Virginia Department of Health, certified car seat technicians will check your child safety seat for recalls, ensure it is properly sized for your child, and verify that both the harness and vehicle installation are correct. Scheduled checks are held periodically on campus and are also available by appointment. To schedule a Child Safety Seat Check, contact police@odu.edu.
If you are planning an event and would like to coordinate services with the ODU Police Department, please contact us at 757-683-4003 as far in advance as possible to begin planning.

As part of our proactive protection philosophy, we offer FREE Residential Safety Assessments (Safety Surveys) to off-campus residents who request it. Safety Surveys assess areas of risk that you may not be aware of, and identify ways to address them. The evaluation includes checking your doors, locks, windows, lights for risks, as well as recommendations for safety devices and procedures that could reduce or eliminate your home's exposure to criminal activity. Safety Surveys make our community a safe place!
